This local government office building stands within the Arctic landscape with its multi-faceted facade and welcoming interiors.

The building sits elevated from local grade so that snow drifting is minimised at entrances and along exterior walls, letting wind blow through and under the building. The elevated condition also eliminates the potential for the building heat to thaw and disturb the vulnerable soil conditions. Accessible ramps let all townspeople enjoy the facility. However one group intentionally left out of enjoying the building was polar bears, including at the exterior balcony provided for impromptu meetings and discussion.
