The central block of the daycare is a heritage building known as the Milner house, named after the family who had owned it since it’s construction in 1909. (http://www.mhs.mb.ca/docs/sites/milnerhouse.shtml) The house’s foundation was fully replaced, with the superstructure repaired and strengthened during construction. During construction the house was slid approximately 30m south to facilitate foundation installation, using massive steel beams slathered in biodegradable dishsoap and supported on cribbing. So it got cleaned up and repurposed in multiple ways.
