World Architecture Festival 2022 - Future Cultural

Holcim Foundation 2023 Honourable Mention North America

This cultural venue for the Saulteaux Nation was built to strengthen tradition, celebrate culture and promote the sharing of knowledge. It was designed with a circular shape using light weight materials. The arbour itself was built using locally sourced timber and a system of cables. This structure is the 2023 recipient of the Holcim award for sustainable construction and the 2022 recipient of the Canadian Architect award of excellence. This structure also won the Culture category of the 2022 World Architecture Festival as well as the WAF Special Prize at this festival.
